"After the victories I had already this season, I was really prepared to try to do the best effort for my teammates. That was my mentality at the start of this race, to enjoy, try to make it harder, attack to make teams chase. I tried something, to put other teams under pressure, but Lucinda [Brand] wasn’t collaborating 100% so the team told me to just try to keep the gap but not put too much effort into and save the legs. I probably wasn’t in the best position to follow Elisa [Longo Borghini] when she attacked. And then we saw she was just too strong."
