A big stand in the colours of the Hauts-de-France Region at the start in Compiègne, giant screens to watch the race live at strategic points in Wallers-Arenberg, Orchies and Gruson, a race steeped in the friendly and cheerful atmosphere our Region is famous for… A major, long-standing partner of Paris–Roubaix, the Hauts-de-France Region is back on the move to make this international sporting event a huge celebration of sport packed with thrills and emotions. Through its support for this legendary cycling race, which preceded the Tour de France by seven years, the Hauts-de-France Region reasserts its position as the home of cycling and sport for all in every genre. Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to line the roads of Paris–Roubaix, the Queen of Classics, and millions of TV viewers will tune in across the world, shining a spotlight on our beautiful region through sport, whose values it promotes for everyone in its day-to-day work with clubs and organisations. The Hauts-de-France Region wishes everyone an excellent 2023 Paris–Roubaix.
Nord, the most populous department of France, is proud to join Paris–Roubaix as an institutional partner this year. The Hell of the North, with which it shares its name and values such as courage and camaraderie, is a monument that shows time and again the passion of the Nordistes for cycling. This fine tradition makes our partnership an obvious choice. In recent years, we have been maintaining and renovating the cobbled sectors in the department, from the Cambrésis to the gates of the metropolitan area. This year, we also brought in goats and sheep to weed the fabled Trouée d'Arenberg in an eco-sustainable and charitable action.
The Nord department, a community-focused authority with nearly 1,000 contact points, stands up for human solidarity and territorial balance. Committed to sport for all, from leisure and sport for health to elite sport, the Nord department throws its weight behind the major events that bring us together and put our towns and cities on the map, so it is only natural for us to back the U23, Junior and MTB versions of Paris–Roubaix too.
The Lille European Metropolis (MEL) is delighted to support women's sports and host the third running of Paris–Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift! MEL works on a daily basis for the benefit of the 95 towns and cities that make it up and the 1.2 million people who call it home. It has powers in crucial areas, such as transportation, housing, the economy, domestic waste and sport. MEL has been implementing an ambitious sport policy for several years. It fights for inclusive sport with initiatives such as releasing support funds for building or renovating sports facilities across its territory, as well as the organisation of mass events such as "MEL SPORTS", which give people in the metropolitan area the chance to attend matches of its leading clubs. It also supports top-flight sports, especially women's sports. Furthermore, it backs seventeen sports clubs, eleven of which are women's or mixed clubs. In the context of the "Terre de Jeux 2024" label, it supports twenty-four young athletes building up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, including eleven young women who compete in rowing, basketball, swimming, rugby, water polo, field hockey and BMX. As a sport hub, hosting big international competitions and major popular events is one of MEL's hallmarks. Next up, the 2023 Rugby World Cup, with five matches taking place in the Decathlon Arena — Stade Pierre Mauroy between 14 September and 8 October 2023. In 2024, the same venue will host the qualification for the Olympic basketball tournament (subject to approval) and the final stages of the Olympic handball tournament.
